Alumni
San Pasqual Academy’s graduating class continues to grow every year. In June 2002, three Academy seniors walked across the Assembly Hall stage to receive their high school diploma. The following year, 2003, 19 graduates donned caps and gowns before a crowd of family, friends, Academy staff, and County officials in the Assembly Hall. And, in 2004, 2005, and 2006, 25, 24 and 27 students respectively, marched through the gym to receive their high school diplomas!
Academy graduates have pursued many different avenues following graduation. Many decided to continue their education at four-year universities both in California and out-of-state, as well as at local community colleges. Others have ventured into the world of work and are maintaining jobs in the community. A few have enlisted in the military to serve their country.
Support for Academy graduates is readily available from any of the campus partners. Alumni are encouraged to maintain contact with the campus partners for up-to-date campus activities and referrals to community resources, as needed. One significant source of support has been the Alumni Housing Program, which exists on campus for those who wish to continue living at the Academy while pursuing their educational or employment goals.
Alumni Housing Program
San Pasqual Academy graduates learn independent living skills through the Alumni Housing Program, which provides graduates with up to 24-months of housing and resources in a supportive environment. Graduates learn and practice the specific life skills they will need in the “real world,” with the security of knowing that Academy staff is available to provide support and guidance on the road to independent living.
The program allows graduates who have no family in their lives and are attending college to return to campus during breaks and holidays. The Alumni Housing Program is also available to graduates who have left the Academy after graduation to attend school, a vocational program, or work, but may have hit temporary obstacles such as lack of housing or employment and need to be able to return to a safe harbor.
The Alumni Housing Program is open to all Academy graduates to receive further independent living skills and support within a community that embraces them and who they have come to know and trust as family.
